Harnessing our Speedy Spirit
From marathon relay treks from John O’Groats to Land’s End that raised over £20,000 for Teenage Cancer Trust, to local litter picking events, creating bespoke outdoor spaces for those in need, and washing cars to raise money for local charities, our communities committee have supported hundreds of local charities through donations, fundraising, and volunteering days.
In FY2025 we contributed £168,456 in donations and supporting fundraising supporting a total of 81 charities.
Each year we also sponsor teams or sportspersons across the UK and Ireland, based on colleague nominations. Our '24 Kits for 2024' campaign sponsored 24 teams or sportspersons, based on colleague nominations. The successful athletes received funding totalling over £12,000.
Within our local communities, we also provide free hire equipment to the value of around £29,500 in 2024 and support town shows, community parks and garden improvements.
We cannot achieve social value alone, it works best through cross-sector collaboration, when businesses, charities and communities come together. By working with our suppliers, customers and partners in the construction and infrastructure sector, we further support social mobility and change, decarbonisation, and improve health, wellbeing and employability.
