ECO PRODUCT ROADMAP

How we're delivering on our 2027 targets.

To help our customers meet their Net Zero goals we have brought state of the art innovation to market such as;

Our multi-million-pound investment in new battery powered assets from Milwaukee’s MX Fuel range which is exclusive to Speedy, expanding our fleet of low and zero carbon equipment.

Our three-year exclusive partnership with NiftyLift to design, manufacture and bring to market the world’s first hydrogenelectric powered access platform.

Acquired Green Power Hire, positioning Speedy Hire as a leader in the high growth, low carbon battery storage unit segment.

Established Speedy Hydrogen Solutions, a hire business for hydrogen powered generator plant, created in partnership with AFC Energy.

As we work with suppliers to develop and invest in eco technologies, we also supply HVO D+ sustainable fuels to our customers helping them reduce their carbon emissions by 90% and air pollutants such as Nitrous Oxide (NOx) by 11% and Particulate Matter (PM) by 20% so their projects are greener and cleaner for local communities.

Making Hire even more Sustainable

Developing circularity

By promoting shared usage as an alternative to ownership, the hire industry directly supports the circular economy by using tools and equipment multiple times, extending their life through maintenance, repair and retrofitting or when they have reached their end of life selling them onto the second-hand market or recycling. All of these elements reduce the use of natural resources, carbon emissions and waste created when new tools and equipment are produced. Our eco-roadmap includes adopting circular economy practices to reduce carbon, waste, water use and pollution by working with our suppliers to repair, refurbish, retrofit and/or recycle our products.

Circular product design

We’re rethinking the norm on product design. Our Q-Fence panels, the alternative to traditional Heras fencing, are 100% recyclable as well as being non-conductive, unbreakable, reflective and easily lifted and installed by a single person. Check out our video below for more information. Our partnership with Oxford Plastics who created the lightweight, composite LowPro Road Plates as an alternative to heavy steel plates reduces carbon emissions by 79% and supports a 2 person manual lift.

Retrofit, repair, refurbish

Our industry-first retrofitted Stage V emission compliant generator, in partnership with exhaust systems specialist Eminox, a global leader in the design of aftermarket retrofit technology was the first industry retrofit of a Stage IIIa generators to meet Stage V emission-compliant standards helping to reduce carbon emissions and air pollutants. Upgrading generators rather than replacing them helps reduce use of natural resources, carbon emissions and waste. Couple a Stage V engine with HVO D+ sustainable fuels as carbon emissions reduce by 90% thus helping to green construction! International Rental News Our partnership with Eminox was shortlisted as a finalist in the Construction News Awards in the ‘Supply Chain Excellence’ category.

Making Hire the Norm

Through our partnership with B&Q we have continued our drive to make hire the norm among retail consumers by promoting tool hire as way of reducing their environmental impact. For trade and retail customers, hire is a sustainable way to solve the problem of purchased tools being used infrequently, and getting old instead of getting used. Hiring tools delivers carbon and waste savings while helping people save money and space and enabling a more circular economy in the re-use of DIY tools and equipment.
