Lloyds British National Contracts Division Retains Prestigious UKAS Accreditation Status

Part of Speedy Hire, the UK’s leading construction equipment hire and service provider, Lloyds British has a segregated National Contracts division that is an independent, impartial and confidential Type 'C' inspection body.

The UKAS accreditation, which Lloyds British has retained year after year for many years, recognises the capability of Lloyds British to provide inspection services for manual lifting equipment, lifting accessories and intermediate pressure systems against the highest standards in the industry.

As an inspection body accreditation, ISO: 17020 covers all activities performed by an inspection body, such as examining products and equipment, processes, procedures, services, and determining the businesses overall conformity and accurate reporting of results. As a Type C inspector, Lloyds British can provide impartial inspection services to Speedy Hire as well as to other parties and provide additional services such as testing and maintenance. 

UKAS is the National Accreditation Body in the UK, responsible for determining the technical competence and integrity of organisations that offer testing, calibration, and certification services.

The accreditation for Lloyds British covers:

• Powered and Manual Lifting, Equipment and Lifting, Accessories including Mobile working platforms (excluding, Tower Cranes, Passenger/Goods lifts).
• Minor Pressure Systems
• Intermediate Pressure Systems With the exception of remnant life calculations for creep and fatigue situations
