When you’re laying a laminate floor, cutting wood for panelling, fitting a new countertop, or deciding to do some craft work, hiring a jigsaw can come in handy.

Their finer blades on this power tool are ideal for more intricate work, such as curved cut-outs in laminate flooring to go around toilets and radiator pipes for instance. But when you’re doing intricate cutting, you want to get it right the first time.

This will minimise waste and keep costs low for you, as you don’t have to buy as much spare flooring or wood. So, before you start using a jigsaw, it is a good idea to know what to do—and how to stop things from going wrong.

Thankfully, here at Speedy Services, we are experts in tool hire. So below, we will go through everything you need to know about how to use a jigsaw.

Heaters are only designed to provide supplemental heat. Don't use them to warm bedding, dry clothes, cook food, or thaw pipes. You need to keep your central heating running occasionally over winter to prevent mould and damage to water pipes.

Portable Heater Safety Tips

Any mains powered equipment you hire from Speedy can come with one of three types of plug, a UK standard domestic plug that can be plugged into any household socket, a yellow 110v plug which will require a transformer, or a blue 240v plug that will require an RCD unit.

But don’t worry, whatever you require your Speedy service centre will provide you with everything you need to power up your equipment. And no matter the shape or size of your transformer or RCD unit plugging it in will be exactly the same, just simply lift the flap and push it in.

When using any heater there are a couple of things to keep in mind.

You should always make sure that the heater has at least 3 feet of clearance around it and never block the cover of the heater as this will create a fire hazard.

When you’re done with the heater or if you need to move it, you should always unplug it first and give it time to cool down before you touch it as the heater could be really hot.

Never leave a portable heater unattended. If you must leave the room, switch it off. Never leave a heater running if you have to leave the house, and unplug and allow it to cool down before you leave.

Don't leave a heater running when asleep, either. Watch out for electrical cords, and don't use in areas with water such as bathrooms or kitchens.

If you have any issues with any of the products you hire from Speedy, just give your local Service Centre a call, as we are always available to help, and remember to always check the safety and operating guidance before you use any hire product.
