Hire Desk and In Plants

Hire Desks and In-plants are an extension of the Speedy Direct service and recognise the special level of resource, management and service that large projects require.

Typically these would include major construction sites and civil engineering projects.

Managing a major construction project is complex and the pressure to manage time, minimise risk and costs is ever present. While the supply of hire equipment and the associated support services represents relatively low value in the context of a multi-million pound project, the risk, administrative headache, time and costs can be an irritating distraction for site or project managers.

Hire Desks, based in our Speedy Direct HQ, or In-plants, where a dedicated Speedy hire controller is based in our customers office, are the answer.

The concept is simple. Speedy provide a one call, 'one-stop-shop' service and a dedicated person or team to manage all the customers' requirements including equipment hired from other hire organisations

Our hire controllers are all highly experienced experts. People who know exactly how to deliver the full Speedy proposition in a way that integrates with the customers own systems and culture, minimises risk and costs and optimises efficiency.

In effect we act as your own 'in house' plant department or as part of it. The service covers literally everything from equipment ordering and sourcing, all administration, coordination, stock management, training, monitoring, electronic invoicing straight to your back office and most important of all, health and safety.

Setting up a Hire Desk or an In-plant  is straight forward but does require careful planning so can take up to 6 to 8 weeks. A dedicated hire controller or team will be appointed depending on project scale and will set up and plan the integration of systems, people, procurement policies and KPI's. They are also responsible for on-going management, reviews, reporting and for the supply of full audit trails.

Once established, the Hire Desk or In-Plant will supply, manage and administer all the equipment and support services required leaving the site manger free to manage the site.
