Speedy recognise that getting our own house in order is essential if we are to make a difference to our customers and we are committed to reducing our own environmental impact as much as possible. We believe that the system of 'hire' is already environmentally friendly:
- Equipment usage is optimised
- Energy and operating efficiency is improved
- Well maintained equipment performs better
Speedy has invested company-wide time and resource to develop initiatives to reduce our environmental impact. Some of these initiatives are still being developed:
- ISO 14001 Compliance - Speedy is working to ensure the whole group is compliant by 2010 by monitoring our usage and making improvements in waste management, recycling and consumption.
- Electric Delivery Vehicles - We were the first company to introduce them in London and are exploring the idea on a national basis. In addition, company car holders are rewarded for choosing low emission cars.

- Environmentally Friendly Products - Working with our supply chain to develop the range of environmentally friendly products from the Plant Guard to the award winning EnviroCabin.
- Product Assessment System - Speedy has commissioned an independent assessment, rating products that offer environmental benefits meaning customers can not only know, but also show that they have chosen the Green Option.
- Internal Communications - Our people are kept abreast of progress, developments and training opportunities.
